Each year, Cardinal O'Malley blesses new Holy Oils during Holy Week at a special Mass known as theChrism Mass. Every parish in the Archdiocese then brings back a supply of Holy Oils to be used in their parish for the Sacraments of Baptism, Anointing of the Sick, Confirmation and several other special moments in the life of each parish each year.
This year's Chrism Mass will be held on April 11th at 11am and will be celebrated by Cardinal O'Malley and his auxiliar bishops and priests at the Cathedral. To make it convenient for parishioners who may want to join our priests - Fr. Chip and Fr. Joe - we may charter a bus to take people back and forth so people will not have to worry about driving or parking. We will most likely stop for lunch as aat a restaurant after Mass before returning to Walpole. There is no cost for transportation, however attendees are asked to pay for their own lunch. We hope you will consider being a part ofancient tradition so central to the life of our parishes.
