Over the next several weeks, Father Chip will address both parishes in the collaborative regarding an Increased Sunday Offertory Appeal. Last spring, we made a concerted effort to raise our Sunday Offertory Collection at St. Mary’s that resulted in an average monthly increase of about 15%.
Clearly, thanks are in order for all of those who helped make this program a success at St. Mary’s. Other families, who were not able to assist with the effort last year, may be in a position to do so now. At Blessed Sacrament, this spring’s effort has a goal of an approximately 11.5% increase in Sunday offertory to help the parish reach a balanced budget in FY17.
In order to be successful, we need all families to prayerfully consider the financial support they provide their parish. We need to continue the momentum to maintain the many programs and ministries that define us as a community.
The goal of these programs is to both encourage parishioners to “take a step” toward increasing their giving as well as make a formal commitment to the weekly offertory as we head into the summer months.
Each parish household will receive more information in the mail. Some families or individuals, we realize, are on fixed incomes or experiencing difficult financial times. We are counting on the many though who are able to make a sacrifice and “take a step” toward increasing their weekly offering.
We appreciate your continued generosity and look forward to strengthening our parish through this appeal.
